EFFECTIVE FOIA TIPS
- ◆ Be specific about date ranges, locations, and document types
- ◆ Reference known program names (AATIP, AAWSAP, Project Blue Book, etc.)
- ◆ Request fee waivers if for journalistic or educational purposes
- ◆ Ask for Vaughn indices if documents are withheld
- ◆ File appeals within 90 days if requests are denied
- ◆ Consider filing with multiple agencies for broader coverage
